Lindsay Clancy is facing charges after allegedly killing her three children at the family’s home in Duxbury this January

Lindsay Clancy is accused of murdering her three children at their Duxbury home in January.

A Massachusetts grand jury indicted a mother suspected of murdering her three children before attempting suicide Friday, bringing her case to a higher court.

According to the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office, a Plymouth County grand jury indicted Lindsay Clancy, 32, for murder and strangulation in the deaths of her children Cora, Dawson, and Callan in January.

After observing how long her husband would be out, Clancy is accused of putting an exercise rope around each of her three children’s necks for many minutes, cutting herself, and leaping out a window while he did two errands she had planned.

In Plymouth District Court from Brigham and Women’s Hospital in February, Clancy pled not guilty to first-degree murder charges. His defense counsel alleges that overmedication of prescribed psychiatric meds caused homicidal and suicidal impulses.

Clancy will face Plymouth Superior Court arraignment after the grand jury indictment. Since the Summer Street Home murders, Clancy has been hospitalized. Prosecutors didn’t specify Friday when.

Duxbury Community Mourns Loss of Two Young Children

The Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office announced earlier in the week that Lindsay Clancy allegedly strangled her children — identified as Cora, 5, and Dawson, 3 — while an infant was hospitalized with what prosecutors described as “evidence of harm.”

The killing of the children rocked the Duxbury community. Local first responders have received counseling for what they saw at the home, which Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy Cruz has called “an unimaginable, senseless tragedy.”

Details shared by prosecutors at previous court hearings have been disturbing

Prosecutors have said that Lindsay Clancy took her 5-year-old daughter Cora to the doctor for a visit on the morning of January 24. This seemed like a normal thing for a parent to do.

She is said to have talked to the office, the nurses, and the doctor, but none of them noticed anything wrong with the way she was acting. No one was worried about her leaving.

Prosecutors say that when Clancy got back home, he went outside with Cora and her 3-year-old son Dawson to play in the snow.

They made a snowman, and she sent pictures to her mom and husband and texted them, but there was no sign of trouble or stress. Prosecutors say that she then started a series of planned actions that led to the deaths of all three of her children—Cora, Dawson, and her baby son Callan.

Graphic Details Come to Light During Duxbury Mom’s Arraignment

Duxbury, Massachusetts’ 32-year-old mother met her first judge during the trial. She wore a mask and neck brace while doing so in a hospital bed. Her doctor indicated her condition is poor and she may never move her legs again.

Clancy texted her basement office-working husband to go to the grocery for kids’ medication and meals, according to prosecutors. She reportedly researched the medication, restaurant, and travel time online.

Her husband, Patrick Clancy, was gone for 55 minutes when the children were murdered with a rope in the basement, according to prosecutors.

Cora and Dawson apparently died at the spot. A medical helicopter took Callan to a neighbouring hospital. After a few days on life support, he died from his injuries.

Lindsay Clancy suffered back and hip fractures. She was brought to South Shore Hospital and subsequently to one in Boston. Her doctor says she is immobile below the waist and unlikely to ever move her legs again.

Patrick Clancy told police that his wife was “having one of her best days” after taking narcotics and checking into McLean Hospital, according to prosecutors. He released a statement claiming he has forgiven his wife and urged others to do so.

Duxbury Tragedy Raises Questions About Mental Health in Murder Cases

Lindsay Clancy allegedly strangled her three children in Duxbury with a rope.

Massachusetts General Hospital delivery nurse Lindsay Clancy. Letters to her lawyer and displayed in court indicate a different side of her than prosecutors claimed.

They claim she “lived to be a mother” and helped many of her friends raise children. Massachusetts General Hospital student nurse Stacey Kabat met Lindsay.

She claimed the Jan. 24 incidents had caused her and many MassGeneral Brigham family members “heartbreak” since then. She called Lindsay a “strong, caring, and loving nurse who no one would ever think could hurt anyone.”
